| SVARnet linked into even more websites - Wednesday, January 06, 2010A couple of major websites have integrated the SVARplayer: The Decostop, based in the States, is the internet's biggest resource for OC and CCR technical diving. Yorkshire Divers is UK based, and one of the largest scuba diving forums in the world. You can check it out here. |

| New websites and more videographers - Wednesday, November 18, 2009We have new partners on board!
New websites are Technical Explorers (NL) and Galicia Technical Diving (BE). In the near future, a couple of UK based websites, Dutch websites and an Italian website will join. For the latest information and a complete list you can look here.
In the meantime, the number of videographers has risen to 25. That's 25 professionals who will be showing you their work! Each week, we will release a new episode in one of the channels.
We've also created a brand new channel called "Sit back and Relax". You will find podcasts with only images and music in this channel. You can have a look here. |
| Live date for the German and Belgian websites - Friday, October 16, 2009Today it's a big day for SVARnet!
Two more websites have gone live with the SVARnet video player and all the podcasts. The first one is Taucher.Net, the largest European online dive portal, with up to 25.000 visitors daily to date. The other website is Duiken.be, the leading diveportal in Belgium. More information about these two partners can be found here. |

SVARnet is a new way of sharing free, diving related, video podcasts with all of you divers, through a network of dive related forums or websites.
Video podcasts are short movies, optimized for viewing on the Internet. Our podcasts are created by divers, professional underwater cineastes or enthusiastic film amateurs. Every podcast is screened by our team before release. We are checking its content, the provider''s credentials and copyrights. We want to make sure to only distribute high quality, high resolution movies that you can view!
Every dive related forum or website can decide which channel or category of movies they want to show you. You never leave your favorite website, as the podcasts are embedded into the websites via a dynamic video player, the SVARplayer.
We hope that you''ll enjoy our SVARplayer and be able to watch many movies via the SVAR network.

You can watch videos about underwater adventures, spectacular encounters with marine life, wreck and cave diving or technical diving in our ''Underwater Adventures'' channel. You can browse through the ''Dive Destinations'' channel for our travel reports, faraway dive destinations or look at "Benelux Diving", which concentrates on cold water dive spots closer to home. Or, if would like to meet professional divers discussing their experiences in the diving world, have a look at the ''Interviews'' channel. And finally "product reviews and testing", to be found in the "Equipment Reviews" channel.
All this is made available at no cost for you. Just log on to your favourite website to view these podcasts!
In the near future we will also offer you the option of downloading these podcasts in other formats. These will include formats optimised for devices like the Apple iPhone or the Microsoft Zune. This service will require registration and a small annual fee.
We want you to be able to view the videos at high resolution without any stuttering. Therefore SVARnet hosts all the podcasts on a dedicated server farm. High bandwidth and backup procedures ensure 24 by 7 availability.
The SvarPlayer offers many functions. Besides the traditional player functions like start, pause, stop and seek, there several additional features. Information about the podcast, the producer and the channel are available via the various information panels. View statistics can be accessed in the title window.But there is more.The player supports multiple languages. All text can be displayed in the following languages: English, German, Italian, French and Dutch.
The player also allows you to select subtitles in the language of your choice or even to switch to another voice over if those are available for the movie you are viewing. The player is smart. It will remember personal settings like your selected language and text size.
